Brody had his first shop-lifting experience!
We were cruising the children's section of Ikea and he was getting pretty frustrated when he spotted the most hideous, gimptastic stuffed beaver and grabbed it right off the shelf. It was so pacifying that I let him hold onto it as I finished up loading the stroller with toys and organizational accessories. Now Ikea is quite larger and with a baby a little overwhelming, so by the time I'd lugged everything to the check-out and rung myself up through their self-checkout system I'd totally forgot he was clutching the beaver. Usually he hates stuffed animals and I honestly thought he would drop it immediately and I wouldn't have to purchase it. Anyway, when we got to the car there was no way I was turning around and paying for it... so now the beaver has come to live with us for good.
The good news is that his love for this creature seems to be undiminished. He holds it tightly and drags it around as he crawls. Today he was playing in one room with his balls and he suddenly gallop\crawled off into the living room. He quickly returned to the balls with the beaver. I guess he remembered it suddenly and just had to have it.
We've inappropriately named it Short Bus, as it looks like it would ride the short bus....we're terrible, I know... but we couldn't resisted. It's two teeth are all crooked and eyes don't match up!
